We hope you are enjoying your lunch break today, we sure are! Chef Grayson prepared roasted chicken, broccoli and pea surprise, and homemade mashed potatoes.

We are super excited to share that Chef Grayson was nominated for The Good School Food award, "The Jamie Oliver Good School Food Award celebrates the sheer brilliance, ingenuity, and determination of those working in the education system to bring good food to our children."

Loris Malaguzzi the founder and director of Reggio Emilia teaches us, that the environment plays a central role in the process of making learning meaningful. This was so important to Malaguzzi that he defined the environment as the third teacher. A flexible environment, responsive to the need for teachers and children to create learning together.

Here at Journey Peoria we strive to make each classroom as warm and inviting as possible. Covered with students art, filled with natural materials and full of imagination our classrooms are the most magical parts of our campus.

Parent: Our student is probably mad. We had beef and broccoli for dinner last night.

Parent shortly after: I was wrong. She ate it all and says that “it’s better than yours mommy because Chef Grayson makes the beef all fluffy and puts something in the sauce that makes it extra super delicious.” I gotta admit, my 3 year-old just offended me a little bit, but I’m happy she’s eating well at school.

We love the transparency of children! Our enlightened nutrition program is one of the highlights here at Journey! We serve a 50% organic menu and it is made fresh on campus daily by our chef!

The empowerment scholarship (ESA) has expanded! You may qualify for Universal ESA. You can apply to receive funds for your child's tuition. ESA applications are accepted year-round and complete applications will be processed within 30 days of submission!

Journey School of Peoria encourages curiosity, exploration through inquiry, and collaboration.

Our teachers are responsive guides to their classroom interest and inquiry. Through play, observation/documentation our teachers capture their journey along the way as they progress, learn new ideas, and create lessons around the topic of interest. Teachers follow the children and make plan possibilities rather than desiging predetermined plans. We work hard to formulate objectives that are flexible and can be adapted to children’s interests and needs during the learning process.

You will hear us often say we are celebrate the process as much as the product!

Out kinderprep teachers have embarked on a journey learning about caterpillars. They have researched, made habitats, and so much more! Now we have set the butterflies free. The students have predicted which states the butterflies may visit.
